Wedge

A wedge is the unit the chamber is built from, and it is the unit the chamber is paid in. Filing a case costs wedges, a seat on the bench is held by wedges bonded against being overturned, and an appeal is opened by staking more of them than the original filing did. The token is not a membership card; it is what the mechanism moves when it runs.
